Car insurance

I have a fairly old car 1992 Mazda 626. Its in good condition but its not worth that much.
I have been with the same company for insurance since I got my car and the price was slowly going down as I got older. Apparently 25 is the magic number for a big reduction in premiums.
About 3 years ago years ago I had a claim and my premiums went up by about $300 and haven’t really gone down much since.

A few online quotes all say I should be paying about $1,000 for insurance. But the car is probably only worth about $4,000 which makes the premium insane.

Some places say they don’t even have a policy available for me.

After a few Google searches I found a company called Just Car Insurance. I don’t know anyone with them but I have heard of them on TV and they are apparently underwritten by AAIMI.

I did an online quote and it was about $500. Half the price!

Just shows what shopping around with insurance can get you.
