Media Double Standards

Recently there was an incident on Australian radio where content people may consider to be inappropriate went on air.
I am not going to discuss if the content was inappropriate, I just want to discuss the double standards media seems to have.
It is also the same double standards the media used against The Chaser’s many times.
You have a radio or TV show that does something that some people may consider to be inappropriate. These media companies come along and do a big
beat up about how it shouldn’t have got to air, then in the same article have a link to the content that people shouldn’t apparently be seeing.
If the audio,video,image what ever, was so bad, then why do they think they have the right to play it.

One recent controversy was with The Chasers where I recall an on-line article calling for the banning of the show. They again had the video hosted on their own web page for people to view.
If they call for one show to be banned for showing a clip, then surely they should be banned for showing a clip which they know is offending people.
The Chasers would not have gone ahead with the airing of the clip if they knew how people would react, the media companies KNOW it is offending people and yet they continue to show it.

The only reason I can think they give access to the content is to stir up more controversy.
